We took the leap and were awarded with a lil baby boy to call our own - Alexander Jay Eric!! Alex, AJ - our son! Look at how cute he is:
We got the initial call yesterday and today we thought we were out of the running. But then we were surprised by finding out the birthmom, K, wanted to speak to us. We spoke to her for about an hour and we really clicked. She is a very sweet woman who wants the best for Alex. She told us that she wanted us to be his parents. To be entrusted with such a precious gift feels unbelievable! K will always hold a special place in our hearts, and Alex with always know how much she loves him.
Alex has to stay in the hospital for a few more days. He is a little guy at about 6lbs and the little stinker is not eating quite enough. We will likely drive down to Long Island in a couple of days, once all the paper work is done, etc. K wants to meet us at the hospital and we are excited for that opportunity.
Please says some prayers these next few days. Pray for us that we get some sleep these last couple of nights with out our baby. Pray that nothing falls through. Pray for K. And pray for our son - the poor guy is alone in the hospital with out his Mommy and Daddy. We will be there soon - not soon enough!
