I meant to come on here and post an update earlier but I have not had much time today (welcome to Motherhood, right?!). It was crazy finishing up work stuff and tracking the progress with Alex and our timeline, etc. So here's the scoop:
We are going to Buffalo tomorrow to sign all of our paperwork, etc. K is signing her stuff on Friday.....we have to do this a little backwards but that's okay, b/c the best news is that Alex is doing great and will be discharged from the hospital on Friday!!!! Which means we will go to Buffalo tomorrow, come home, try to get some sleep (yeah right!) and then we will leave for Long Island around 4am Friday morning to meet our son, K and K's mom. We will spend the night in Long Island and then make our way home on Saturday.
It is going to be a crazy few days for us, but we are so excited! We can not wait to meet our son! And we are so looking forwrad to meeting K and her mom as well. K has given us the best gift in the world and I need to thank her face to face, woman to woman, mom to mom. How in the world will I ever be able to thank her enough?!

So excited for you! Don't worry too much about the right words, there really aren't any. But from what our BM told us, seeing the joy and love on your face for Alex will be all the "words" she needs.
You thank her by loving him. It's that simple.
YAY! CAN'T WAIT TO HEAR ALL ABOUT YOU MEETING YOUR SON, ETC.... DRIVE SAFE! CONGRATS AGAIN! :)
This is great news! I will tell you that meeting BM was/is wonderful and so emotional! I don't think I was fully aware of the emotions I would feel. Do not worry about words your tears and love will be all she needs to see when you hold your son for the first time!
Enjoy!
It is so special that you get to meet K. I thank our DDs' birthmoms every single day. They are beautiful, strong, loving women!
