Today is our 3 year wedding anniversary! I decided that every year I want to buy something based on the traditional anniversary gifts. Our 1st year was paper so we bought a Family Bible. The 2nd year was cotton so we had a blanket made for our future baby that says "We held you in our hearts before we held you in our arms" - we can't wait to wrap our baby in that!. 3rd year is leather. That was alittle more difficult, but we got a trifold leather picture frame for Jason's office (to fill with our future baby's pictures!) and a leather address book to keep track of all our friends and family. We will be going out to dinner tonight to our favorite little Italian restaurant - ALMOST as good as my parent's food!
But why leather? What does that mean and how does it apply to our relationship? Leather symbolizes durability. I found several definitions for durability:
"Permanence by virtue of the power to resist stress or force";
"Able to last: lasting for a long time, especially without sustaining damage or wear";
"Capable of withstanding wear";
"Stable"
Sounds pretty accurate right? I believe that everything Jay and I have been through has proven our strength as individuals and as a couple. Our marriage is strong, stable and long-lasting. All we need now is a baby!
HAPPY ANNIVERSARY JAY!!!! I LOVE YOU!
